EVA STAR

For Eva Star, photography is not only about capturing faces but about preserving feelings. Her love for images began in childhood, watching old black and white slides projected on the wall with her family. Those evenings felt magical, and she remembers being fascinated by how one picture could hold an entire memory.

Art has always been part of her world. Born into a family of actors, Eva spent much of her childhood inside theaters, watching her parents perform. Surrounded by creativity, she learned early on how emotions move people and how expression can tell stories more powerfully than words. That foundation continues to guide her as a photographer today.

Her journey behind the camera started as a personal discovery. Once she began photographing, she realized it brought her joy in a way nothing else could. She calls it a shock wave of inspiration, a rush of passion that made her see the world differently. Since then, she has never stopped creating.

Eva’s photography is about connection. She believes that every person has a unique kind of beauty, and she feels proud to reveal it through her lens. Her favorite work remains in black and white, where she finds the deepest emotion and truth. To her, color can sometimes distract, but monochrome tells the real story.

She admits that her path has not always been easy. Finding her own style, growing as an artist, and trusting her creative instincts have been lessons that have shaped her. But Eva sees the process itself as beautiful. The unpredictability of art, she says, keeps her alive and curious.

Based in Denver, Eva continues to explore the world of photography with heart and courage. Her goal is simple yet profound, to keep learning, creating, and sharing her vision with the world. “I want to conquer this world with my talent,” she says softly, “and I will do it because I feel the power in myself.”

For Eva, every photograph is a piece of emotion, a fragment of truth, and a reminder that beauty lives everywhere, if you have the eyes to see it.

EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW WITH EVA STAR

What first inspired you to pick up the camera and start creating?

I grew up in a family of actors, spending most of my childhood behind the scenes of the theatre, surrounded by stories and light. When my daughter was born, I wanted to capture her beauty and emotions in the same artistic way I saw life on stage. After an uninspiring studio shoot, I took the camera myself, and that’s when my creative journey truly began.”

How would you describe your journey since you started photographing seriously?

Since I started photographing seriously, I’ve dedicated myself to continuous learning and practice. I love experimenting with light, color, and emotion. My greatest joy is revealing the beauty of people, especially women, and capturing genuine feelings. I connect deeply with my subjects, which helps me reflect their true emotions through my lens.”

Why do black and white photographs speak to you so strongly?

I am drawn to black and white photography because it captures the soul of a moment. Without color, every expression, shadow, and line becomes more vivid. It allows me to show people’s emotions and inner beauty in the purest way.” But color is good sometimes, too.

What do you love most about the people you photograph?

What I love most about the people I photograph is discovering what’s hidden inside them. I try to show their true selves, their emotions, beauty, and help them open up in front of the camera.

How do you prepare before a shoot?

I prepare for every shoot with care. I help my clients choose the perfect location and outfits that match the mood and story we want to tell. I also create a mood board to bring the vision to life. For me, preparation is part of the creative process, it helps people relax and feel confident in front of the camera.

Where do you find your motivation to keep growing as an artist?

I find inspiration in many forms of art, films, music, and visual art, as well as in my travels. Exploring new places allows me to see the world from different perspectives, discover new aesthetics, and bring fresh energy into my photography. These experiences constantly push me to grow and evolve as an artist.

Who or what has influenced your creative vision the most?

My vision is influenced by life itself, by people, emotions, and the moments that happen naturally. I’m inspired by how light touches a face, how someone smiles or thinks for a second. Those little things build the mood and magic I try to capture.

What emotions do you hope your photographs evoke in others?

My goal is to create images that evoke emotion and connection. I’m particularly drawn to portraying women, their individuality, inner strength, and quiet beauty. I strive to reveal their true personality and energy, capturing not only what they look like, but who they are inside.”

How do you define success for yourself at this point in your career?

For me, success is not about numbers or fame. It’s about doing what I love, creating honest and emotional work, and seeing people truly happy with their photos. At this stage in my career, success means striking a balance, continuing to grow creatively, forming deep connections with the people I photograph, and staying inspired. When my pictures touch someone’s heart and make them feel seen, that’s the most meaningful success for me.

What advice would you give to other young photographers just starting out?

My advice to young photographers is to practice as much as you can and never stop learning. Don’t be afraid to experiment and make mistakes, that’s how you find your own style. Believe in your vision, stay true to yourself, and shoot from the heart.

What do you dream of creating next as you move forward in your career?

I would love to work with film actors and try myself in the fashion industry. I’m also interested in creating photo stories and interviews with people who have unique lives and experiences. I want to capture real emotions and tell honest stories through my photography.
